  1. I have an early (sept '69) 1970 Mach 1 built in Dearborn, it doesn't have any bumpers. just the weatherstripping.
  2. Vintage -air has a nice looking set up. I have not seen one on a car nor do I work for them. I am saving up for a set up from march performance. Poke around on Summit Racing they carry a few brands.
  3. This web forum has a member that lives in Florida that fixes those harnesses. http://HTTP://WWW.vintage-mustang.com Here is one of his posts with the contact information. http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/showtopic.php?tid/1511725/ I hope this helps you. By the way, have you joined a Mustang club? I've searched on the web for Mexican built Mustangs and have come across a few clubs in Mexico. There are even forums online specifically for those clubs. Here's one. http://www.hammar.dyndns.org/~mexmust/
  4. Forget trying to cobble the linkage to fit. Get a Lokar cable and bracket. I did and have been very happy with it.
  5. Check out moderndriveline.com Ronmorris and mustangsteve.com for clutch peddle ideas.
  6. Your fuel float is probably cracked and full of fuel, therefore it won't float. It's an easy fix if you have the tank very near empty. The factory connectors for the light are not spade connectors, so I think it is a repair or a left over wire from a previous modification. Check it for voltage as you operate the light switch and see when it comes hot. This should help you know where/if to hook it up.
  7. I have been looking into getting the brakes upgraded in my Mach 1. These are the vendors i looked at: http://www.ultrastang.com/Page.asp?PageID=34 http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html http://www.streetortrack.com/13-Cobra-front-bracket-kit-pr-23991.html http://www.vintagevenom.com/mustang-cobra-rear-disc-brake-conversion I have no experience with any of these vendors, so I cannot recommend any one over the others. I do remember one of them has a kit specifically for the Granada spindle.

  9. As I recall this was done by the Factory on the Boss 302 track cars. A bracket was used to mount the front disc/rotor to the axle. Also part of the mod was to mount Lincoln Disc/rotors for the front. All of this was very heavy, and the brackets are probably impossible to find these days. Why not go with the "Mustang Steve" or "Street or Track" kits? They are well thought out and readily available. These kits use very common components, which will help when it comes time for repairs. Which ever way you go, post pics of your project!

  11. I don't think you could mount the clock panel with that light installed in that position.

  13. I tried running the Carter 6-8 psi pump and ended up taking it out. The damn thing kept cutting out when it got warm. I'm running a mechanical pump now with no hassles. I believe if you run an electric pump you should install an inertia cut off switch. You can find lots of them in mid 90s and up Fords. Look in the trunk, and get a few inches of pig tail when you pull it.
