There is sheetmetal replacement pieces available for most any part of a Mustang. It just takes time, effort and a some welding to replace most of them.

The battery apron isn't too hard as I just replaced my shock tower and apron on mine. The quarter might be different. I'm lucky as I do not have that issue with mine.

Left/Right is from sitting in the drivers seat.

Usually 'inner front right' or something like that. If you're leaving your battery in the engine compartment you'll need the battery tray as well that mounts to the apron to hold the battery.

It does take work to replace one. You'll need a way to remove the spot welds and possibly an air chisel to get the old one out. If the shock tower is cracked I would obviously replace it at this time as well. You'll need a wire welder and a grinder to finish it out.

How I did it is here:

Got the job done at least I think.

I would seriously consider getting the car media blasted first before you chop out or buy anything. You could be looking at far more work than you currently realize and you don't want to be welding in a new part just to find out later that what it is conencted to is rotted on the other end and has to come out too.

That really is going to depend on the place and the area you live in. Mine was subcontracted by the body shop. I would just look in the yellow pages for your local places and call for an estimate. A run down old school shop that is hungry will likely cost a lot less than a new franchise type pf place.

Check around with other car people and/or body shops. I live in Oklahoma and believe it or not we have a guy that will come to your house and glass bead blast whatever you want for about $90/hour.

I had the whole front engine bay inside/out, trunk, headers, heads, intake and several other items done in July and was very happy with the results. He does whole cars as well and knows the issues with thin metal on early Stangs.

As seen here : http://www.protowrxs.com/Nolen/Stang/Rebuild/2006-07-06.asp

You might have someone similar there. <shrugs>
