The same crap happend to me. I have been wanting to purchase a 69 convert for the longest time. I found one on the internet. Within a week I had the car sent from St. Louise, MO. I was so excited, like a boy on Christmas eve. The car was being delivered to my office, so it would be there when went to work. I went to work an hour early. The car looked great, new interior, new top, nice paint and wheels. Then it happened, it would not start. Then once I closed the door, I could not open the door from the inside. Within the first hour, I had to purchase a new battery. Once I got it started, it ran hot. The interior lights did not work. The car runs like crap, hesitating and bogging out. I traced the overheating to a backwards head gasket. The guy had placed the water pump with a broken bolt but covered it up with another short bolt. Let me tell it was fun drilling out the bolt. Now the transmassion is leaking, the rear main seal is leaking, and the trans does not want to stay in park (FMX). The car was a death trap. I know the car would not have made it back to Charlotte. Thank god I was too busy to go out and try to drive it home so it was delivered. I still love my car. I have alot of work ahead but it'll be a nice present for my son (3yrs old) when he is older. I have an 408 stroker (465HP,580FT LBS), TKO 600, 9" rear 3.7 gear...,hookers, magnflo...in the works. Should be ready by July some time.
Lets compare loses on our investment. I'll go first by saying that I paid 25K for mine. I know you guys are thinking...HOLY SHI_!! Yea, I know. From the pictures and conversations I had with the company that sold me the car, it was an ideal car. I just have to laugh. I just don't tell my wife how I really feel about the purchase. So what did you pay for yours???
