  1. Coolest Dad, you are off to a good start. I would hate to see your son get hurt. These old cars are beautiful but not very safe. Rear disc breaks are a good option. I have all dics and let me just say it stops just as good as my Audi. One of the things I upgraded was the rack&pinion. My mustang used to drive like a big dump truck with too much play in the steering. I think with brakes, seat belts, suspension, and steering you are off to a good start. This is what I started with and like a tornado the car engulfed all my money and carried me away....lol. good luck.
  2. Dougs...good clearance..power steering, Ididit tilt colum, rack.pinion.

  4. This is what I used in mine. Fits perfect to TKO. The problem with the HURST is what you have stating. In 5Th gear and reverse the shifter binds or pitches the boot to the console. This one eliminates all the problems and keeps 5th gear close to your body(you don't have to streach to reach 5th gear). Grab a leather shifter boot and you are in business. I got my from lokar performance. I wished I had a pic of it. best of luck, hope this helps. http://www.reenmachine.com/shop/product.php?productid=16151&cat=0&page=1 here is a pic: http://www.reenmachine.com/albums/index.php/1967_mustang_convertible/0236.jpg?action=big&size=original&fromthumbnail=true

  8. Pak, will you let know how much you spent on your 13" dics project. I have some 11" no name brand but the cobra brakes would be great.

  14. yeap, it's Steve's car. I knew I had seen it once before. This past weekend driving back from my mother's house. I see this nice mustang and I knew right away it was Steve's car. So here it is Steve, I found your car. You car is in good condition, and I have to say that it looks better in person. The white face guages are awesome. That's what I want to do later on my car. It really wakes up the look of the interior. I have more pics that I can post later when I get home.

  17. G-Mach, Nice report, thanks for sharing your weekend with us.
  18. BIGscez, looks like everyone is in the same boat as you. I bought my car signt unseen...$25K. Looked great but ran like popooo, PO said the car ran good and only 5,000 miles on new motor...it was a mechanical nightmare, unsafe as heck, leaking SOB, and well with the overheating problem that the car had I can see why it only had 5,000 miles in 4 years. I changed: thermostat, radiator, water pump(found a broken bolt)...still over heating. Finally took the heads off and WAMMMM....the head gasket was put on backwards...After an additional $25K, everything from the engine, trans, suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, rearend, the car is right. The rack and pinion was the last thing to make the car drive better. I could have spent money on a shell and then build everything ground up and would have saved more money. I would not trade my car for any other one...she is my baby. I love this car. Take your time, let it be a hobby car. I'm impatient and need to have it now which costs money...BTW, I like your conv.
  19. JG, man that is a nice looking stang. Show us more pics of your convert. Is that a shaker I see or is that my dirty screen. What size tires you running on those 17's.
