  1. Making progress.... Doing final wiring/wirewrap/routing cleanup under the dash. Powered everything up, and it all seems to work. Will install my audio head unit next. Then, last item before the dash pad install is to make some adaptors so I can do a quick connect of my center dash A/C registers when I install the dash pad. I plan to make some flex tube pieces and use a shop vac adaptor to create an easy way to connect the Vintage Air center duct register to my flex ducts. I I will need to sneak those ducts past my in dash speakers. More to come on that....
  2. Ahhhh...Good point. I do not have my carpet yet....
  3. Well, got it going. The advice to put it in the off position and then cycle it worked. I started in the first fan speed position and then cycled it up and down. When I shut the car off then turned the ignition back on...success! The fan was not running. Funny what happens when you follow the instructions.....
  4. Thanks. I will try the recalibration again considering this advice and me forgetting about the factory fan switch off position....
  5. Oh…right…. The lever shuts it off Means I need to reposition the sensor on that lever Thanks!
  6. Powered up my Gen IV Vintage Air system. I am using the original factory controls with their add-on sensors. As soon as I turn my ignition switch to the “on” position, the Vintage Air blower comes on. I did the “calibration” process described in the Vintage Air instructions (grounding the grey wire) and it seemed to work as described. But, it did not change the key-on, blower- on situation. I called vintage air, and the technician asked me whether I had a two speed plus - off fan switch or three speed fan switch. My assumption is that if the fan switch is in the up position, then the blower should not run at all? Any suggestions, insights, lessons learned would be appreciated! Vic
  7. Same “S” clip that is used on the plastic duct pieces where they mount to the registers
  8. I have a new drivers front floor section, I’m trying to figure out where the proper location of the foot mounted highbeam switch is. A rough measurement would be fine, I don’t think it’s that critical
  9. I may have to look at my coffee, can full of brackets to find those clips, but I doubt I’ll find them, I’ll probably use some kind of adhesive tape or foam to attach them
  10. Oh wow, I’ve never seen those before. Mine didn’t come with clips, so I’ll have to improvise. I also found the proper brackets, for the lower dash So no worries there appreciate the diagrams and answers
  11. Oh. Ok. I need to find the assembly drawing that shows that. Are the metal tabs on the dash or column then?
  12. Well, the miracle finally happened, I got my dash installed. it actually wasn’t too bad, I had a few interferences with the duck Work and I had to move around and then it went right in. Also put on my new steering wheel it’s not bolted down yet, but it’s been in a box for a few years that I wanted to see how it looked on the car I found some brackets in my container that is full of miscellaneous brackets, and I thought these were the ones for the dash where it bolts to the body underneath the dash I’ve tried to flip them and install them a few ways, the dimensions of them just don’t seem to fit very well with the way my car is built, so any suggestions would be appreciated on those I also found this plastic piece that was brand new in my stash of stuff to install on the dash. It looks like it goes underneath the steering column and mats near the collar, but it does not seem to fit correctly. I suspect it to 1969 part?
  13. OK, got it all installed, it was a little bit of fun I had to put the dash in first and then hook the register in ductwork afterwards, but looks like it’s going to help the clearance issue with the gauge package
  14. Actually, there’s no holes there and I use the S clip and it worked fine. .
  15. Got it. Thanks for the tip. Yes, the S-Clip will work perfectly! I have an extra couple from old duct mounting pieces. Thanks!!
  16. The configuration is fixed in that orientation due to the way the plastic piece was manufactured.
  17. The "hazard flasher" is the result of US Government regulations that came out in 1966 that resulted in lots of changes to the cars being sold in those days. It took a few years to implement this, and most car manufacturers scrambled to meet the requirements. I have had probably a dozen '65 to -70 Mustangs. The hazard flashers wound up on the steering column in late '67 for the Mustangs. Here is a picture of what the '66 Mustang emergency flashers looked like..... This also resulted in having 2 separate flasher relays in the car. One for the directionals, and one for the emergency flashers.
  18. Oh, anticipating questions on the impact on the air delivery through the duct.... Since the diameter of the short length of flex duct behind the gauge package is smaller, the velocity through that section of duct will be higher. However, since air is a gas, and is compressible, the Conservation of Mass Law applies. What that means is the mass flow of air is constant through the air duct system. So, possibly could generate more noise, but in my opinion, no impact.
  19. Just updating my thread here to include the A/C duct routing that I had posted in the tech forum. The problem I faced is that I put my main wiring harness and relay package for my AAW wiring harness behind the steering column support brace. I did not realize that the A/C duct ran through there on the way to the drivers side A/C register. The AAW gauge package is pretty big and I was not convinced I could run the A/C flex duct through there and still fit the gauge package in. So, I sourced a smaller diameter A/C duct, and used some shop vac adaptors to run the smaller diameter A/C duct in front of the column support bracket. Looks like it will work, so will keep everyone posted on how this goes. I plan to have my dash installed around the first of the year...
  20. Think I got it set up for success, hopefully. Trial fit everything, so my plan is to run the small duct across the steering column/dash support behind my instrument panel gauge package. In the final preparations to install my dash, I expect do to this before the end of the year....
  21. I have the metal tab (has the yellow tape on it in the picture above), but nowhere to mount it.....
  22. My car is an original air-conditioning car, and it has an original air-conditioning dash. Not sure where this air-conditioning plastic duct mounting tab gets attached to? There is no hole in the upper glove compartment door structure that indicates this was ever mounted there.
