Ok fellows. I spoke with some of ya'll awhile back about acapulco blue. I want to know if it is metalic. I talked to a man today in california that swears acapulco blue IS NOT metallic. Please let me know for 100% sure before I go on a wild goose chase looking for it. I did order $120 worth of restoration books today but it will be awhile before I receive them. I want acapulso blue metallic for my car. If It did not come in that color I will probably change my color completly. I put POR15 on all the underneath today and am ready to start painting door jams and such. Then the phone call today freaked me out. My whole project has all of a sudden come to a screeching halt. Please advise, Thanks, James

Probably are dust shields but would help with any squeeking or rattling on and off brake application over time.

I'm sure he would really appreciate that. Good luck with your plan. I'll stick to mine. But I'm sure I'll still be asking him a lot of questions. Have a classic day, James -

What is the best book or at least "a" book on how to restore my 1969 Mach 1 ??? I have one that only goes to 1968. I wouldn't have to bug you guys so much if I had a manuall Even a repair manual would work. Just can't seem to find a source for our year model. Thanks, James

What part of the country do you reside?? I am fairly new to this site but these guys have already helped me more than they can imagine. I can tell one of my buddies I'm talking on "My forum" and they know exactly which one I'm talking about. I am building a 69 mach 1. Welcome, James

speedometer won't work
james the flame replied to james the flame's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
jerry, I completly bypassed the sending unit by romoving the wire from the sending unit and grounding it to the frame with a jumper wire. That should make the gas guage move to the FULL position but it did not move at all. Do you see what I did?? What do you think?? Thanks, James -

Ok fellows, I have the dash out of my 69 mach 1. I am trying to get my gas gauge to work. I grounded the wire at the sending unit and the gauge did not work. All fuses check ok. Does the gauge work off the printed circuit?? I have 2 gauge light bulbs that work.Everything else on the car works.Lights, turn signal, brake lights under dash lights, door lights, sail panel lights, even turn signals in the hood..I will need to replace the wiper switch. It is burned up. Any suggestions how to test or repair the gas gauge?? There is a bad looking place on the circuit that could be causing a problem. Can you purchase new printed circuits??? Please advise and thanks again, James

virginia mustang parts rear window louver
james the flame replied to james the flame's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I got my shipment from virginia mustang. 7 boxes. Everything looked very good. Only thing backordered was my rear tail wing spoiler. Not bad considering I ordered $2,500 worth of parts. How difficult is it to properly install the rear window louver. My car did not come with one. Also do ya'll advise I get a pro to put the headliner in?? Should I remove the windshield and back glass??Thanks, James -
