  1. The thing is, they are on the east coast and i'm on the west. About the same distance apart as the US east and west coasts. I think we got a show coming up though and they might have a stand there. I'll be keeping an eye out for them!:shifty:
  2. Buying suspension? Buy local guys, buy American. Over the last 2 months I have waited for RRS to supply me with a pair of rear control arm bolts at a cost of $11.55US. For compensation for 5 months of the following drama. 27/12/07 i ordered the three link rear suspension. When i ordered i was told it was a good time to order because this time of the year is quiet. 2 and a half months later after numerous unreturned messages they came up with the excuse that the 9inch casings were the delay, I answered by saying "But I didn't order a 9inch casing I had my own as per the order." They answered "well its a busy time of the year.:shit:. When i stated that they told me it was a quiet time to order he just stammered and stuttered like someone does when bull shitting. The three link arrived incomplete( parts STILL being finished) the coil-over springs had been repainted over old paint and flaked off when touched, they were grey and not red like the glossy brochures. When I asked him, he said he had no explaination.:001_huh: The top spring/shock bracket did not fit and had to be returned for alterations, at my cost for freight!!! During this rear suspension fitment we went to fit the RRS disc brakes to the diff. When I ordered the disc brakes I personally called the engineer and we agreed on what size plates to be ordered. They STILL sent the wrong size. I had to send those back at the cost of freight to me as well. After 2 weeks waiting for the disc brake plates i finally called and asked "where the hell are they?" He said, they are all finished and have DEFINATELY been sent. Another 2 weeks went by and I, yet again, made another phone call(alot of my phone calls were answered with we'll call you back and didn't) to ask, "where were they." He said they were still sitting at the workshop because they forgot to send them!!:001_huh: Their lack of service starts to raise questions about their product! The three link design has been changed three times over the last three years!:001_huh: Is this just a trial and error thing at our cost? Are parts going to be avaiable for the previous designs? This project of mine has had me in business with many companies but RRS would have tobe the worst of the lot. And the Irony of this is: i went with RRS thinking they were an Aussie company like myself so they would look after me.( no insults to US)How VERY wrong i was to be. So after spending approx. $15000 over 3 years on everything RRS they couldn't supply me the $11 eye bolts as compensation. Eye bolts which ,when purchasing a complete rear package should be in the kit anyway. Who's going to hang a $4200 dollar brand new rear suspension on USED eyebolts? Buy American guys!!

Hard to get now, and worth a few $$, (I threw o many away!) because people cut out the phrase and welded it into the firewall/trunklid etc. BUGGA me!!:cursing: Oh well, hine-site's a beautiful thing aint it?

  8. When you guys remove or fit your engines with the tranny connected to the motor, do you remove the tubed cross member down below the engine mounts or can that stay in place? The reason I'm asking is because i'm looking at beefing the cross member up and making it a permanent welded thing. But if it hinders the engine removal/fitting then I won't make it permanent.

  10. Cheers for the info guys! My mate is trying to find a pair of these because he only has one. I mite have to search the Aussie Ford forums to see if there are any around. My friend and I, both agree that this style of the embossed 'powered by Ford' is very rare. So the hunt begins!

  12. I know for sure that we ran the 302 clevo,s down here. The Falcons were badged as 4.9L. The guys used to pick up a 302C dirt cheap and put in a set of 351 crank and rods. You guys might have just ran the 351C in the US. Interesting!

  14. A friend of mine aquired this cleveland valve cover. We were wondering what size engine ie: 302,351 2V or 351 4V and what vehicles in the US this might have been fitted to. This has come off a cleveland out of an Aussie car. Thats about all the information we got down here!:whistling: I remember most Aussie 302s had the orange and 351s were blue!

  16. Do they do make a narrower leaf spring? That could give you at least half an inch more back spacing, maybe. You would still have massage the front inner fender though. is it deep dish you're after or just width?

  18. 18x11 with 335s on the rear. Removal of leaf springs, mini-tubbing required: taking the inner wheel well back to be flush with the chassis rail, move the bump stops from outside to inside. Rear housing shortened 2" so that a smaller back spacing of 5.25" gives the super deep dish look. Have a look on this site under: Project progress- My 1969 mach1 Restomod Downunder.

  21. After seeing that website and the price for that power I am feeling very ripped off, or 'corn holed' as you guys would say. I paid just about double that price for my motor AND suppied the short motor. Before I had my motor built, I walked into the shop where i had the my motor done with every intention of running the CHI 3v heads. but "NO", he said, the engine builder tells me, "they wont flow enough for 460cubes but the Yates heads will but triple the price because the Yates come bare and need lots of work and custom rocker gear." Stupid me, gave the green light to go with the Yates. NOT HAPPY!!:cursing: That site proves the CHI 3v can flow enormous numbers. Im going to run off a print of the site and slide it across the bench when I make my next payment to my engine builder!! I'm going back to sit on the floor of the shower cubicle with the water running.

  24. The paint will weather better than unsealed black plastic. The black plastic, if left unpainted, will become porous and will fade to gray. Think of the paint as a sealer.
