The shakers fitted to the aussie falcon gt only came with the cap- no snorkels. Then again we don't have winters like you guys either

I bought mine off eBay, they were 5 3/4" halogen inserts. You could go with sealed beams and still be legal too but I wanted better lights. The RH headlight buckets will need mods to fit them. The mounting tabs are in a different position. If I get a chance today I'll post a link for the lights.
Cheers Shaun

Sounds familiar- my wife was pregnant with our first when I bought my coupe. I had an xr8 ute and "mustangs have 4 seats". Bundy is a nice place- I've been through there a couple of times.

Another Queenslander! Welcome mate. My coupe fitted on a 1800mm trailer with an inch or so clearance either side with 15x7 rims. Where in Qld are you from? I'm near Toowoomba.

There's some good info in the link. Fitech seem to have more info through Facebook than their website.

Coupe/convertible stock trunk lid in steel. AFAIK no one makes the original.

its an interesting topic and worth starting its own thread. Because Fitech is so new maybe people with other tbi systems could share their experiences. Also getting a range of vehicle use would be great too. What works for someone who just drag races their car would be different to somebody using tbi as a carb replacement on a daily driver.

Thanks for the info!

The single/dual plane argument is for carbs. It apparently doesn't apply to FI because of the adjustments the computer can make.
I'm no expert, but given the fuel is entering the intake in the same place as a carb, I think the dual plane/ single plane argument is valid. Yes the computer has better control, but at low revs your fuel/air mix is going through the intake same as a carbed system with all the poor atomisation issues etc if your engine doesn't need a single plane. A tbi system will probably mask the problem to some degree but it will still be there. A multipoint system where the injectors are at the port you only have air running through the manifold so you don't have issues with poor atomisation at low air speeds. Just my 2c.

Latoracing- what thickness steel did you make the outer braces from? I'm interested in adding this style of bracing
Thanks Shaun

I have about 2000 miles on mine allowing the system to do the tuning and self learning. It has been completely trouble free. I doubt that I will ever run a carb again.
IMHO the "set and forget" self tuning programming in the FiTech is very well done.
Good to know! I have the dilemma of running my coupes current 302 with a carb that needs a rebuild at minimum, then having to buy another carb when my 351C ready to fit. The Fitech unit will take care of both engines. Probably be cheaper too!
-
I'm curious to know as well. I'm probably in the 99% of users who will just do the initial set up and leave it alone. I would like to know if there are any issues with that part of it or whether it's in the advanced tuning. The main reason I'm interested in this system is the "set and forget" method of tuning.

Very cool!! Is that one of the modular rears where the axel tubes bolt on?

They didn't mention taxes so I assume that's just freight. It seems the manufacturers always charge more for freight than summit/jegs etc. when I got the AAW harness and the Dakota digital gauges freight through summit was $70-80 cheaper than buying direct- even though it shipped from the manufacturer!
I contacted speed master and they are only stocking the go-efi 600hp version. $2000AU and $50freight from Sydney. Buying through summit and getting your sister to ship it looks to be $300-400 cheaper
-
Fitech got back to me through their Facebook page about freight- $150-200. The Australian distributor for Fitech is speed master. By the time they pay taxes and add their bit, with freight it will probably be cheaper to buy direct from Fitech or summit.
-
Not good. They have a Facebook page I might try through Facebook and regular email. I looked at summit for their shipping price to Aus, $79.95US through DHL express and you sort out the import taxes. If you're lucky it might just slip through. I've had that happen before. Through I-parcel it was $220US and they pay the import taxes for you through a broker. That should give you a rough estimate on freight.

I don't know. I watched one of their videos that said the took out the timing control, boost control etc. it still has the fan control though.

I might email them for more info on the go street system. There wasn't any info on their website last time I checked.
-
You're right Shep, it doesn't. That will work for me though as I have a late 351c block with the Bosch electronic distributor. I rebuilt it and had it recurved to suit my set up.
-
I'm still in as well but might change to the go-street 400hp set up if its available through the group buy. I don't need the system any time soon and I have the cash set aside when the time comes.

Found some info on the 400hp kit. $795. It would suit those who just want a cruiser.
-
I just spoke to Summit and they weren't interested in doing a group purchase discount. It was worth a try anyway. I've always had good experiences with my purchases from them.

Is there any more info available on the 400hp version? My 351c is more of a cruiser than a racer and the 400hp version may better suit my engine.Did you guys know that Holley is going to sell a comparable TBI called the Sniper.
Also, FiTech wil be making 2 new models.. IIRC, one is a 400 hp version sold on the same platform.
NOT MY ATTACHMENTS BELOW

I just found out Summit are selling Fitech systems. Just a thought but would it be worth speaking to them about a group purchase discount? I'm thinking it may be a backup plan if it becomes too much hassle for Bob to set up.
Bob, we all appreciate your efforts in trying to set this deal up but no one wants to see you out of pocket or caught up in tax or legal issues trying to help us out.

I found this on the net. Leaves you without a fuel sender though.
