BandBSTANGS got a reaction from laurakk11 in Hood stripes
I'm playing around with the dupli-color peelable rattle can paint, the matte black looks really good on rearbody panel. (car will be stripped to bare metal when painted).
I want to put a stripe or black out panel on hood. Im bored with Mach one, Boss 302, and 69 black out hood. My thought is to use the vent width on cowl panel with rounded back edge. with1/4 inch outline strip leaving approx 1/2-3/4 inch of body color at lower windshield moulding. If i don't like it peel it off.
Any body have any ideas or better yet photos?

This car just came into shop where I"m getting my rear body panel and patch panels installed in my 1/4's.
Coleman's Super Torino. Coleman & Taylor transmission. Their other funny car was the Super Cuda
Bob who is a fabricator and welded in my panels is going to build the headers for car and mount for the fuel tank.
Car has original body and chassis. Car has a blown 427 cammer motor.
I was told that this was the 1st funny car to run 200mph.

BandBSTANGS got a reaction from katelyntg69 in ANOTHER REAR SPRING QUESTION
Rob, who has been my guidance and solver of problems fdound some information on the BOSS 302 REGISTRY about rear springs and ride heights.
the article mentions that a/m spring suppliers (SCOTT DRAKE) sells one size fits all mustangs and when measured the springs have in excess of 7 inchs spring arch vs a #42-441 spring (Boss 302 replacement) has a 51/2 inch arch. (D0ZZ-5560-C)
Amazing, that is just about how much too high my car sits with Scott Drake 4.5 leaf mid-eye springs.
Can anyone verify this and if this is the truth save eveybody from wasting their money on springs from suppliers that don't have a clue what their lowering springs actually do.
In defense of Scott Drake I did buy these from Summit, but they are listed as Scott Drake 4.5 mid eye LOWERING springs

BandBSTANGS got a reaction from Footcutter11 in 3G or 6G alternator conversion
Have a 3g on my 70 cleveland off of a taurus. Spoke with a local shop here who stated that some alt rebuilds that he has sold to people putting them on mustangs were having issues with belt slippage with v-belt pulley. 3g's normally have serpentine belt which is wider and pulley diameter and idlers allow more belt wrap.
My buddy/guru Rob wired it and we installed a boss 302/k-code 271 alternator pulley which is larger to allow more belt wrap and it hasn't slipped (yet!) or thrown a belt and it has been past 7000 on shift before I figured out that the yellow light I was seeing was the shift light (you big Dummy).

BandBSTANGS got a reaction from Robertpr in 15x8 magnum 500 & drag radials
Has anyone ran 15x8 magnum 500 rims with drag radials. I'm looking at 235/60 15 or 255/50 15 drag radials as my t/a radials act like your on ice if you get into the gas hard.
Car has a 357 Cleveland, with a c-4 with 3000 converter, and 3:50 traction lock.
Will I have any clearance issues with 15x8 rims and drag radials.
