Lil John SVT 27 Report post Posted May 6, 2016 The previous owner did a single serpentine belt on the motor, 351W. I don't like the way the top radiator hose is bent and rubbing the idler. And the altenator is very close to the battery. Thinking of going back with a regular v belt set up. Unless somebody can explain to me why it's like this. Thanks. 1 sherriepl3 reacted to this
det0326 179 Report post Posted May 7, 2016 Mine is the same way I have the serpentine set up from a 1991 bronco. You can use maybe a different hose and maybe change the angle a little and help get it away from the idler. Just remember if you change back to v belt you will probably have to change the timing cover and water pump also if it is like mine because the water pump is reverse rotation.
