69351w 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2015 I've got a 69 non a/c car. What wire on the under dash harness does the red wire from the blower motor connect to. Thanks.
Midlife 814 Report post Posted August 19, 2015 It connects to the heater switch connector.
69351w 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2015 Thanks. Where is the heater switch connector and what does it look like? Is it the blue/red single female (foreground)end in the first pic? Does anything connect to the male tab below the connected plug on the heater box? Sorry, but I'm a rookie in electrical and couldn't find an answer searching online. Midlife 814 Report post Posted August 20, 2015 The pictures so far are of the heater box; the heater switch is located on the dash or center console area.
69351w 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2015 Where does the lower wire in Brian's pic go, or come from? My heater switch has a 4 wire plug connected to it. I don't see any other place the single fan motor wire can connect to around the switch. Thanks for your help.
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted August 20, 2015 As Midlife pointed out; all the pics show the relay and not the switch. A pic of what your asking about would go along way. Brian
69351w 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2015 Sorry for any confusion I've caused. The first pic is the best I can get of my heater switch as the dash is installed. The 4 wire plug is attached to the switch. I can not see any provisions for any other wires or the single wire from the heater motor. The second pic from NPD sure looks like the red wire and connector that plugs into the lower single tab in Brian's heater box pic. If the red wire from the heater fan motor does not plug into the lower connection on the heater box, what wire does?

69351w 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2015 Got a couple of better pics. Turns out the heater fan switch is a 5 prong, with just 4 wires in the connector. The bottom slot in the row with 3 tabs has no wire. This is the only open terminal I have located. Midlife, is this the location you were referring to connect the heater fan wire? I'm still looking for an answer to what wire attaches to the lower tab for the resistor on the heater box.

69351w 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2015 Ok, thanks. Any idea which wire connects to the lower terminal on the resistor?
69351w 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2015 This schematic looks to me like the lower right connector on the heater switch should be empty, and the lower terminal connection on the resistor goes to the heater blower motor. Unless I'm misreading it...is there any reason not to wire it this way?
Midlife 814 Report post Posted August 23, 2015 That empty pin on the five pin socket is used for air conditioning.
69351w 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2015 I connected the red wire from the heater blower to the lower single terminal on the resistor and the fan works just fine. Thanks fellas.
