rodbrady 18 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 I'm blacking out the trim on our coupe, mostly with Plasti-dip at this point, however, any suggestions on how to black out the exterior door handles and locks? There's too much contact from hands and keys for Plasti-dip. Not sure how well paint would hold up either. Short of eliminating them all together, any other suggestions? Does anyone make black versions?
Rsmach1 71 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 Look into black chroming them. Edit, or powder coat, you would need to remove the chrome from the handles. Not my pics.
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 Yup. Powdercoating
MustangBobby 28 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 You can sandblast off the chrome, and then paint them. Not as durable as powder coating, but it's an option, and it's usually a better finish.
