Sorry Bill I need to read closer. This I suggested is for the rubber not the stainless.

Most are using urethane on the SS.  The same stuff used on modern day windshields.

I purchased a clear silicone product from O'Rielys auto parts to attach mine. It is an automotive grade silicone and seems to be holding up fine. It is clear and I just wiped off any excess with lacquer thinner as I didn't spare any product while attaching. For removal in the future if needed using a heat gun to soften the silicone will allow for easy removal of the stainless steal strip.

My issue is that the top corner (opposite of A-pillar) dips below the door edge if I roll it all the way down. It catches on the roll up and will take the trim right off if I am not careful. I will try again.
