Print Dad 58 Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Hello All, Well the Mach is coming along and it is about to be painted. For those that may remember our car it is the Mach that we have owned over 35 years, Anyway - we are going to have the stripes painted and I can find the hood stencils - but not the trunk lid stencil. Does anyone know who sells a stencil kit for the hood and trunk lid. Could be separate pieces but I would like them to be factory. Oh yes the car is 351c with NO shaker. I know that only applies to the hood of course. LAst comment - we have decided to paint the car the original Grabber Green Thanks all - - Jim or Sam be well - - go Pats LOL

miketyler 15 Report post Posted January 18, 2015 There is a great detail illustration out there for the trunk and wouldnt be too hard to lay out by hand but I bought stencils for mine just to save the time. As anal as I am I would not attempt laying out stripes and numbers. I would still be out in the garage second guessing myself on the layout. What paint/finish are you going to use? Print Dad 58 Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Hello barnett468, Thanks - I did not see this in the CJ catalog - old age I guess TY NExt - I do not know where the attachment came from in my original post - I did not post it and not sure how it got there - ODD - - has nothing to do with the stripes. Mike, TY -you have a great great looking car and once again I thank you for the help now and in the past and future. As far as paint - to be honest - I am not certain. The guy doing the work is excellent and really does do great work. All I know is there are about 5 or 6 coats of primer and when he paints it he is going to do 4 or 5 coats of color and then 3 or 4 coats of clear. I trust this guy and his work is real real good -not cheap but real real good LOL I will ask him what he is using. You may recall our Mach has been black since we got it and our 08 is black - Figured it was time for a change - so then we got to thinking about the original color. I think the car is going to look pretty sharp. I also know the car will not have the exact finish as the original but I do know he is using the Ford paint code for grabber green. This car is a driver and not a concours car. It is a cool driver that I think will look pretty good when finished. As always I thank you guys for the help. Sam Jim - see my name is JIm but everyone calls me Sam
