seat risers/platforms

Recommended Posts

I have a question about seat risers.

Why are some tall and some short?

I bought a new full floor that came with risers off a guy on craigslist from a project he decided he no longer wanted to do.

The risers/platforms that came with it are a lot shorter than mine.

Any particular reason why, can I use these risers on my fastback?

The floor in the car right now has had new pans put in at some point with taller risers.

Any help would be great.

I wouldn't think it would make much difference only the height of the seat.

Just curious why some are short and some are tall.

'69 / '70 seat risers are shorter than the previous year's. I would install the seats you are going to use in the car to see if you have enough head room and leg room to the bottom of your steering wheel . Your head might get a little comfy with the head liner if the risers are to tall. Then again, you might like the height. Try it out, you can always replace them if need be.

The sportroof risers are shorter than the coupe/vert risers.

I just removed a drivers side seat riser in a 70 convert and replaced it with a fastback/coupe riser which measured exactly the same height wise as I had recorded it prior to removing it.

It was wider however so I had to take some out of the width.

I guess that would make sense as the sportsroof has a lower roof line.

Whoever replaced the floor pans must have installed the taller risers.

Well back to the shorter ones for me.
