Big Block 24" Radiator Shroud question

Recommended Posts

I have a 351C and purchased a new brass 24" 3 row radiator, it has the upper hose on the Pass side and lower hose on the drivers side. Today I also picked up a new radiator shroud, but it was for a 67-68 428 etc.. big block, it had the right hose locations and was 24". When installing it today, I can't seem to get the shroud to drop down deep enough to line up the bolts holes. I had to take off the lower hose and squeeze down on the shroud to make it fit. Right now it's pressing hard onto the radiator lower outlet and trans cooler lines.

Even though the shroud is a 67-68 Big Block, wouldn't still fit the Cleveland.

I thought about using a dremel, but there's not much material in that area. I need about a 1/2" and I think the plastic would crack if I cut some out.

This shroud does have a gap at the bottom around the perimeter.

I was checking CJ pony and see that there are shrouds specific for Big Blocks and Boss 351/302's.

If I have to take too much material off the shroud, I'll pass and try to recoup my money for a Boss one.
