Aftermarket pulleys - diameter questions

Recommended Posts

My stock pulleys are roughly 6 5/8 crank and 6 1/8 water pump. This should mean my water pump is spinning faster that the crank - which sounds good to me.

BUT

The aftermarket March and CVF high flow pulleys for the FE are 5.4" for both crank and water pump. I am ok with a 5.4" water pump cause smaller is faster. But why aren't there any pulleys for the crank that are larger like stock? I don't want to run same size cause then I am 1:1 which is worse than stock.

Anybody run into this issue? Ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks Maxum96. I think I am going to go with an OEM crank pulley to keep the size larger, then just get a billet water pump pulley which is smaller. Hopefully this will be fine. It should be a 15% increase in w/p speed.
