Gauge Cluster Resto

Recommended Posts

I recently restored the gauge cluster and once back together, I noticed that there is a gap between the gauge and the plastic gauge housing. To the point that if I look up from underneath the gauge, I can see the "Ford XXX part number" on the speedo--not visible when staring at the gauge from what I guess would be driving position (not installed yet)

Sequence when assembling from back:

Plastic gauge cluster

Plastic glass

Plastic gauge housing

Gauge with metal housing

Want to make sure before i get further down the road on install.

Yes, there is supposed to be a gap there. That is how the light from the dash light bulbs in back reflect through this gap to light up the face of the gauge.

If it all fits and you have no extra parts, you are probably doing it right!
