Cornerstone 15 Report post Posted November 3, 2012 So I scored a fold down seat set up in a trade I did and it needed some fixin to use it. I had the 3 panels blasted for 20.$ each and then primed/painted them (rattle can satin black... yes I know it's not the correct color). When I test fitted the new trim some of the screw holes were wallerd out. Thats a Texas term for reamed. The screw would not hold and tighten down, so I came up with a way to save the panels, check it out. I used some sheet metal and positioned it with vice grips to cover the hole that was too big. Then I MIG welded the patch over the hole, ground down the excess and re-drilled the correct size hole to accept the trim screw.
Cornerstone 15 Report post Posted November 3, 2012 Also in this process I realized that the rear most panel was actually a 65 and not a 69, so a modification was nessecary in order for it to look a bit more accurate.

miketyler 15 Report post Posted November 3, 2012 Sweet - I have bought a FDS from an earlier model to my 70 and may be facing the same type mods. Is that the Dynacorn repo chrome kit? If so how much work getting it to fit?
Cornerstone 15 Report post Posted November 4, 2012 Yes it is a Dynacorn kit and all the pieces fit well except for the 2 side pieces on the middle panel. They are crimped a bit too tight at the 90 degree end. The screw hole is to tight to fit without opening up the bend some.
