Fordrevhead 29 Report post Posted October 12, 2012 A 69 coupe showed up at my local bone yard. I know the car and had it bought out from under me once. It has popped up over the years and I can trace it through 5 locations and three owners over 20 miles lol. They want $500 for it but its fairly stripped and is a real project. I talked them into selling me some parts. It has some interesting wheels. Aftermarket I think but period correct and have held up amazingly well. I dont know exactly what they are. Too bad they are 14s. Anyone know anything about these?
Cornerstone 15 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 I think they are called chrome smoothies with dog dish caps.
Fordrevhead 29 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 Ah, smoothie like from the 40s coupes! Baby Moons the center caps were. Dog dishes are the more squared off profiles of the late 60s.

Fordrevhead 29 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 I have NEVER seen a perfectly smooth Ford logo baby moon though. They always have a lip or ridge or two. Cragar still makes one perfectly smooth like that but no logo. If they were willing to break them up I would of bought just the caps or at least one to hang in the shop lol.
