MustangGT 11 Report post Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) Started to replace foam and upholstery on my seats (front and back) and found the frames a bit rusted. I am gonna need to media blast them to clean them up. However, I am wondering do I need to use "special" paint for the springs (due to the flexing they will do)? Can I get away with a rattle can (brand suggestions appreciated)? I know they wont be seen but I want them to be protected. I am thinking about a self etching primer followed by your basic black. jmlay 80 Report post Posted February 29, 2012 The springs I have seen are bare metal. IN any case you will be fine putting on regular paint, just don't go too thick.
3Must 10 Report post Posted February 29, 2012 I blasted mine and just shot them with rustoleum gloss black. You loose a lot of paint in overspray trying to cover the springs!!
