LiLMike 42 Report post Posted November 29, 2011 What does the stock front dash speaker mount to? I took that plastic dash pad cover off today and boy did the PO really screw things up. The orginal dash is all cut up. He used silicone to hold the dash cover in place. He also removed a lot of things under the dash. He cut out a square hole where the holes for the speaker was. I peeked in there and see that part of the stock A/C is missing. I just see an empty space where I think the speaker would mount to. Is there something I am missing in there? Is there some sort of bracket I could buy to mount a speaker in the stock location. Boy do I have a job ahead of me.
rmarks 20 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) Speaker mounts to metal bracket that is molded into the dash pad. Has bolts that slide into the holes and the speaker is secured with nuts. Here's a picture of the nuts/bolts: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/1969-1970-Ford-Mustang-Cougar-dash-Speaker-w-harness-/00/ Edited November 30, 2011 by rmarks

LiLMike 42 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 I just checked my new Ford Tooling dash pad. It does have the speaker mount built in it. Never thought about it mounting up there. Thanks again RMarks!
rmarks 20 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 (edited) Yeah, link not working. Look up ebay item #220749325872 and there is picture of the speaker with the bolts. Picture shows 2 bolts but IIRC there is 4. Edited December 2, 2011 by rmarks
