82stangracer 10 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Just talking specifically about physically bolting in a V8 inplace of a 6 cyl. (not suspension, brakes, etc) What would it take to bolt a 351w in, mounting wise? Do I have to use these brackets from MU? http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=C7ZZ6028PR+01&catkey=65-73$srccode=MUEMVWEB What do they do exactly? With those brackets would I need the short or tall style engine mounts? Thanks Edit: refering to my car. Edited April 26, 2011 by 82stangracer
crankywanker 10 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 those look like the brackets that i have in my stangaroo. the motor mount sits atop them and a single bolt slides through that hole on the side. i wish i could answer ur question better. :(
buening 63 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 You will also need these, which bolt to the block: http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?GEN0=&GEN1=&GEN2=&GEN3=&GEN4=&GEN5=&GEN6=&GEN7=&GEN8=&GEN9=&TRAN85=Y&T1=2287+01&dep_key1= The two eyelets have a bolt that goes through them once those mounts are set atop the ones in your link. That single bolt attaches the two motor mounts together and holds the engine in place. The ones in your link bolt to the shock tower with the two bolts that are shown. You can also see the single bolt hole in the picture for the previously mentioned bolt.

Yes, I knew I would still need engine mounts. Like I said in my original post, I didn't know if I needed the "tall" or the "short" style mounts to use with those brackets. So the "short" style are what I need?
