Does the screw go at the front or back?

Recommended Posts

With the narrow style rocker molding (Mach 1 type) the front end is held to the fender by a nut that threads onto a threaded post held in the molding in the same manner as those that hold the molding onto the front of the hood.

The back end of the rocker molding is held onto the car with simple screw threaded through the molding into the rocker sheet metal.

Cheers,

T.

Yes, those two fastener clips there are correct (one is pictured in the bottom right hand corner). Although it would be a shame to buy the whole kit only for two those parts.

These are very common body molding clips that you could obtain from any body shop or supplies outfit. You can also easily make the part you need using a simple fender washer, a nut and bolt. The washer needs to be a size that will into the molding ‘channel’ to be able to hold the two flanges against the body when the nut is tightened. You can always trim a larger washer to fit. There are cut outs in the rocker molding flange that will allow you to slip the washer behind the flange and into the molding’s ‘channel’. If you have the actual rocker molding with you you’ll see what I mean. If this all still seems puzzling let me know and I’ll snap some pictures for you.

Regards,

T.
