Edelbrock Throttle linkage?

Recommended Posts

What part of the throttle linkage am i missing?

Dave,

Hard for me to tell, but have you swaped from a 2brl to a 4brl?

At very least you need the ball to connect the cable to the carb. At most you need a new cable mount, ball and springs.

I converted my 2brl to an Edelbrock 4brl. I will get you some pics tonight when I get home. I got everything from Oreilly Auto.

Here is how I'm set on my two Mustangs.

First is a 302 with a Holley 600. I'm showing you this as it is using the stock cable.

Second is a 302 with an Edelbrock 600 with a replaceme t set-up

Hope these help you. Any questions let me know.

This is showing whole setup. Note the non connected kickdown linkage. This is for the automatic kick-down and not necessary, but the extension is avaiable through Summit Racing.

Here is a closeup of the ball connection. I got this in a Holley connection acessory kit from local auto parts for $20. Only needed the ball, but had to buy the entire package.

Here is the Edelbrock linkage. For this one I replaced the entire throtle cable with a kit from O'reillys for abot $25. It came with everthing except the new bracket which was about $20. As my original cable was bad this worked great.

THis looks lke it would work. THis assumes your throtel cable is long enough to reach the connection. I see slack in your cable so you might be OK. But check your peddel position and cable leingth befor you spend the $$. I liked the kit from local Auto parts so I could hands befor I purchased and returned if it did not fit.
