1969mustang302 10 Report post Posted June 18, 2010 I have a 69 302 with a 4 barrel carb and it has a C4 transmission in it. I have been wanting to change it over to a 5 speed manual. I found a guy that has a T5 5 speed out of a 1995 mustang. He says that it will bolt right up to my stang. I am totally new with transmissions so I need help. He said he will give me the transmission, clutch, pressure plate and drive shaft. That means i will need a clutch pedal assembly. Would I need to look for an assembly for an old mustang or one for a 95? I need some help please.

bigperm2 10 Report post Posted June 18, 2010 If you google it, there has got to be an article on how to do it. One thing I do know, the 94-95 T-5's have a longer input shaft, so you have to use the 94-95 bellhousing also. Since the bellhousing is longer, it will move your shifter back compared to the regular (93 and older 5.0) T-5's

bigperm2 10 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 I did a quick search, and it looks like the magic number is about 7/8" longer. If the "normal" T-5 fits perfectly in the hole, will 7/8" back require trimming??? The other consideration is the crossmember and the driveshaft. It will push the mounting point back 7/8" and the driveshaft will have to be shortened another 7/8" There is another option, you can find the shorter input shaft with the correct tooth count and install it in the transmission. Then it would be the same as all the pre-94 swaps.
