Angel 24 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 I used to have an fmx tranny on my 351w. i have basic hedman long tubes. when i swapped the fmx for the aod, i wasnt sure if it would clear. but it did. its tight but i dont have any rubbing issues what so ever. people say that you need to get headers that clear the aod, but mine fit. but now that i think about it...youve probably got a c4 huh. the 351w is wider and the fmx closely resembles the aod in dimensions. thats probably why mine worked for both. but in your case, a narrower engine with a smaller tranny, any headers not made to clear the aod probably wont work. sorry dude. but try hedman headers. they make a wide selection of tubes. or call summit racing Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
69shelbycoupe 11 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 It is a 302 block with an aod. I'm pulling it out of my 94gt to drop in my 69. It makes about 475hp. I have short tubes on it now but I don't see any exhaust kits for the 69 that bolt up to shorty headers so I was going to put longtubes on it. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
