Change to electronic vrs point distributor?

It depends on which electronic ignition you use. I have a factory tach with the Duraspark II ignition and I didn't make any changes at all to the tach, although I did route a full 12v to the ignition by using the brown start circuit to bypass the resistance wire after going through the tach.

That what I'm talkin about! Thanks for the pointer on the past thread! once again you guys fill in the blank as well as any body out there!!!!

The factory tach is wired in series with the resistor wire going from the ign swiitch to the +coil terminal so it's gets confusing. Here's an old thread that covers a lot of the theory (some of which may be right) :huh:
