DragPack69 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 Guys, I seem to have an axle location problem, maybe someone here can chime in. The Axle is 5/8 inch too far to the left (DR side) Everything is located underneath (frame/sheetmetal) the spring perches seem to ber correct also. Could someone measure their car from vertically the edge of the quarter (I used a level reading level vertically) to the axle flange and see if theirs is off? I put larger tires on and now I find this problem. Thanks for the help. John
Fordrevhead 29 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 um, does it matter if someone else measures and finds their's is off too? I would say that that finding 1/4" or so is not uncommon. On back halfed cars I have seen an inch from some hack fabricator that couldnt read a tape measure. Has the car had quarters, frame rails, etc. replaced? I would measure diagonals from say the spring perch to like the front lower control arms or something. You may find you have a thrust angle and caster problem as well on an alignment machine. Also measure the springs themselves from the center pin to the front pivot.
DragPack69 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 No, everything is original as far as shetmetalI had an alignment done and they didn`t say anything was out of spec or abnormal. Thanks for the reply Fordrevhead, I`ll do a lttle more measuring and pm you. John
