Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted February 24, 2009 I'll bet they used a ton of good ole fashioned gasket shellac. Have you tried spraying it with an aersol based glue/cement solvent?
elgrande 10 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 SO I got the oil pan off....after 1 week of removing old epoxy and cement. BUT... I can't get the steering linkage off enough to drop the pan. Refresh me, how do you take off the steering linkage? I got confused when I was down there. Thanks.

By the way, thanks Pakrat. It was your idea of using cement solvent that drastically helped.

elgrande 10 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 SOO, my car is up and running again. glad to have it back after almost a month of drama and problems. I found out that my problem installing the oil pan was due to the wrong oil pan. Apparently, someone thought the car was a 302 and put 302 stickers everywhere and so, I trusted the stickers and when I looked at the engine block I didn't notice the two manifold bolts (which is typical of a 351W.) ANYWAY, i have a 351W not a 302....problem solved, car is running and happiness is back. now its time to take off some stickers...
