Brake issues

Recommended Posts

During the rebuild I have replaced the Booster and Master Cylinder. Bench bled the MC and installed, bled the system but here is where the problem lays.

It won't hold pressure - I have replaced the back wheel cylinders and no matter how much time I bleed them - they will loose pressure. Even when the pedal is solid - the damn brake light is on... BTW - there are no leaks!

Q: Could it be the proportioning valve?

Removed the MC and distribution block/ proportioning valve....

The proportioning valve was still under pressure, the switch contacts bad and after looking at the fitting on the block - I jsut don't trust it! It appears once again somebody was there before me :surrender:

Time to call Dennis at discbrakeswap.com ...............

Yep, I think so but when everything is out I'm double checking everything!

Picked up a new block with proportioning valve from Dennis for $69! Beat the heck out of NPD and others by ~$50- $70! Booster makes a noise like you're stepping on a bag pipe - also will change that....

BTW - 69in 2006, how's your's coming along. I have Bill's engine in and running! Sweet! Trying to hit Henri's in town to finish the exhaust before X-mas!
