DeLoreanDMC81 10 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 I have a 1969 Mach 1 that didn't come with any front seat belts when I bought the car. I purchased a used original deluxe set, with the two belts connected to one mounting spot, on ebay a week or so ago and they finally came it. My question is which way do they get installed? I've attached a picture to show which belts I am referring to. You can see that there is a smaller and a longer strap, so I just really need to know which goes to the shoulder strap and which goes to the retractable lap belt? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! James http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...SeatBelts1.jpg
Infinity 10 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 I found that in order to use the shoulder harness, you have to use the longer belt. Mine was is just a plain coupe, but the should on the ceiling is non-adjustable while the lap belt has a tensioner on the door side. Hope the helps. DeLoreanDMC81 10 Report post Posted May 12, 2008 I tried testing the seat belts in the car yesterday and found out that the small strap is way too short for the lap belt. James
