S code 69 13 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Is there any place I can get mustang drive shaft specs? or maybe someone knows. my car was in peices when I bought it and the drive shaft looks too long, if I need to find one I'd like to know what to look for. I have a '69 with a 390 a C6 and a 9 inch rear of course. the one I have is a touch over 56" from center of the U joint caps on both ends. thanks
daley driver 10 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 I just bought a new one and installed 2 weeks ago. The correct lenght is 51" c-c u-joints. I purchased it from cj pony parts, harrisburg Pa. 2 types are available steel and aluminum
S code 69 13 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Thanks, that's for a C6 and a big block? if mine is that close maybe it is right, not likely to be from some other car and be within an inch.
daley driver 10 Report post Posted May 12, 2008 51" is for all as far as I know. I have had numerous 8" & 9" rears with different yokes in the same car with a C-4 trans and always had the orig. 51" shaft until I replaced it recently with another 51" shaft
