trailblazin45 10 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 I have a 1969 Mach 1 with the 351W and a top loader 4 speed trans, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any hydraulic clutch system that would fit on this. The pressure plate on it is too stiff and when we do the cruise for a local car show it really gets hard to push it in. I know that I could switch over to an automatic, but i'd like to keep the clutch for now. Any comments are greatly appreciated.
wantahertzdonut 10 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 I don't know if the JMC hydraulic setup works with the 4sp, but it's worth looking into. Opentracker Racing Products also sells a roller bearing conversion for the Z-bar that you could install, and perhaps it'll free up your clutch pedal movement enough to be easier to use. I'm not sure what it costs but I'd imagine it's less than a hydraulic setup.
musman 10 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 I went with a Centerforce clutch and flywheel, got rid of that stiff clutch spring under the pedal and now it works like magic even without the spring...
