operating temperatures??

Anyone know the normal operating water temp and oil pressure for a 70 mach with a 351??

If so... what temp is considered overheating?

Depends on what thermostat it has right now and the condition of the cooling system (# of rows radiator, upgraded waterpump?) to determine normal operating temp. Mine runs consistently at the thermostat setting of 180°. On a hot day it will go up to 190°, but i have a huge aluminum radiator and an upgraded cooling system. I'd start to get nervous around 210-215°.

 

Oil pressure depends on the condition of the bearings/motor and what kind of oil pump it has. Normal rating of 10psi per 1000rpms is a good rule of thumb.

my car also runs at the temp of the stat which is 180. i have a stock cooling system but car came with ac so it has the larger 24" rad. it's a three core unit and i also run a shroud and clutch fan instead of the regular flex fan.
