seam sealing

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever used anything on the inside metal seams besides seam sealer. That stuff seams to be pretty expensive and hard to find out here. Is there a problem with useing a silicone or a latex caulk. What kind of properties does seam sealer have that would be better than a tube of something from home depot? Thanks

Jim

you cant paint over silicone and the fumes from it will cause major fisheyes in fresh paint in areas not even touched by it , latex would promote rust i think,

seam sealer has properties init which repel water and its easy to sand and shape

You should be able to buy seam sealer at any good automotive paint supply store. Also there are online options one being the Eastwood's or the AutoBodyStore.
