coloradomike 10 Report post Posted November 7, 2006 I am not real familiar with Mustangs, much less Shelby's, but I have a customer with a late 69 Shelby that was titled new as a 70. He needs to know just what color should the engine block be? He also is detailing the power steering pump and needs to know the original finish on it as well. buening 63 Report post Posted November 7, 2006 The engine block as well as the heads should be ford Dark Blue. Either Dupli-Color or Plasti-Cote is the fine, with Plasti-Cote being the closer match. As far as the PS pump color, i've seen varying colors between a blue/teal and black. Does the car have the original pump on it? BTW, all 70 shelby cars were 69 production vehicles that were titled as 70. Basically made too many from what i understand. What is the second digit of the VIN for the car?
