rockheretic 10 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 When I turn off my engine and remove the key, the engine continues to run. It is not backfiring or dieseling. mymach 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 Could also be the starter relay (most call it a solenoid, but it's technically a relay...). There are two slip on connectors, and if reversed the engine will continue to run even after the key is removed. BAMF69 11 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 I just wired my mustang and if you connect the ignition wire on/off to a constant 12v connection the car will start but won't turn off because theirs still a power source to that wire.
