Anyone noticed a rapid decline in email Spam lately?

My day usually starts out visiting my online free email account that I use primamrily for web related contact like forums and such and every day there are like 75 to 100 spam related topics that I have to delete as since it's free there is pretty much no way to block them. You know the kind of crap like penny stocks, horny girls in my area that want to meet me, fake rolex, a bigger, thicker stronger penis, the usual nonsense. This has been this way for like 5 years at least. Well suddenly this week there has been a major decline, I mean like down to less than 10, today there was only one. So I can't help but wonder if some new law passed or I have finally just gotten lucky. Anyone else experienced this? I'm not complaining mind you just curious how it happened.

 

BTW, as it turns out the penis cream does work but it makes your hand bigger too.:confused1:

Actually though I use yahoo and they've been pretty good about spam for along time.

HAHA yeh really just how many sites are you signed up for? I use hotmail and gmail from google and they are both very good about filtering out the spam. Who are you using pak?

Lol, I ain't signed up for any of them. I've shopped at Adam&Eve once or twice but that's it and they don't have my email. It's a free email account thru www.speedracer.com they use big mail box. Since it's 100% free you get solicitation for everything from everywhere, it's not like it's just porn, there's work at home, low mortgage rates yadda yadda useless crap. After all these years I was getting ready to dump it finally out of frustration but now it seems to have stopped so I thought I'd ask around as I know lots of others with free accounts like this who have had simillar issues. I have like two other accounts that aren't free and don't have spam issues, I just like having an address that ends in speedracer.com that's all.

So you know what I'm talking about then. Hmmm, so maybe the server changed their policy or all these losers finally gave up on me. It used to be annoying as hell. I would almost never check it over the weekend and then Monday morning my work email would have a message saying my online account was over capicty and there would be like 10 pages with 25 emails each, 99.5% useless but I would have to at least scan the source and topic before deleting just to make I don't miss that stray one from folks like you.

 

Ben, that's the one thing I'd probably give up my old account for becasue that would be just as cool. I'd start a new thread on it though if you want maximum visibilty.

Well, I should have known it was to frickin' good to be true! I have been having major problems suddenly logging into my account all week after enjoying the prior week Spam free. Today I finally get into it and this is the message waiting for me:

I would recommend Yahoo - big free mailboxes and storage areas - and it's a publically traded company. Had mine for over 10yrs.

Well heres the deal there hasnt been enough participation in the thread where i ask if people want there own @69stang.com email addresses. If i had say even 30 people say hey sure i want my email address, then that would be more than worthwhile. But if only 8 people want to be apart of it then its not worth going through the trouble or paying the monthly fee to do so. And i really dont want to do the ad-supported email.

I actually have all my accounts forwarded to my gmail account, even my 69stang.com email addresses. Hopefully we can get some more interest in the email address's or I could possibly do a paid type membership where the email address is included. But the majority of people wont like that idea and im not sure i do either.

Well thanks for the options folks, I really just don't want some run of the mill boring ass @sameaseveryoneelse.com address. That's what I loved most about my old account, not that it was user friendly or spam free but that it was @SpeedRacer.com, that was cool, to me anyway. Oh well, I guess all good things come to an end. I wonder if they still offer @Stangnet.com accounts?

I have a @1969stang.com email address, yes. Well a couple of them for the site, like webmaster at..... etc.

 

But the problem is this: They limit how many email accounts i can have/make and its not user friendly or automated (sign up process). I would like it to be as simple as possible where people could just sign up and be done with it. Not where they email me or whatnot and have to wait for me to set it up, not to mention the current limit on accounts.
