  1. I did. It's gone smoothly so far. They ship via Fed Ex and it should be here on Friday, according to the tracking number.
  2. Well, I went with the Magnaflows. Wish me luck!
  3. At some point I'm going to be in the market for a set of Magnum 500s and a new set of tires for my coupe. The car is stock for all intents and purposes. Now I'm thinking about 15x7 (or 15x8?) Magnums but what sort of back spacing should I be going for? As for tires, I'm thinking about getting some Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. Frankly, I like the look of the BFG T/As better but I've been reading some very good reviews regarding the Firestones and they still have the raised white letters that I want. The question is what size should I get? What's the biggest I can go without running into rubbing issues? I was thinking 235/60/R15 on all four corners. I wouldn't mind putting some beefier tires in back, but is it worth sacrificing the ability to rotate them? This car is mostly a daily driver so I have to consider practicality with aesthetics too.
  4. I'm going to eventually need a new tail light panel on my coupe too. Someone apparently thought it'd be smart to fill a little area that had rusted out under one of the tail light lenses with bondo rather than actually fix the problem. It's strange because the same area rusted on both sides but nothing else (that I know of).
  5. Thanks; I may take advantage of that. What kind of tips do you guys use? It's really not something I had thought a great deal about, but I think I'd want plain straight ones and not ones angled down. I would think a 3" (or 3.5") diameter, 12" long tip would be more than adequate? I don't want something that would extend too far out. I notice on the site Chappy linked that it mentions "inlet" diameter, referring to Magnaflow tips. I assume that means the diameter where the tip meets the pipe? In other word, 2.5" pipes would require tips with a 2.5" inlet diameter, right? I assume there is no adjustment or room to fudge on this?
  6. Thanks! I think I'm leaning more and more toward something from Magnaflow.
  7. Interesting insights, thanks! Does anyone have any more information about the dual mode mufflers? I found this vid by Magnaflow on Youtube featuring a 69 Mustang: To those of you who have Magnaflows, does this sound representative? I listened to some vids of cars with Flowmasters and most tended to sound overly raspy and grating to me. It could just be the sound quality of whatever recorded the video though.
  8. I've been thinking about getting a new exhaust set up for my '69 coupe. The car has a 302 and is stock, for all intents and purposes. It currently has a single pipe and I would like to go with duals. Should I go to a muffler shop and have them custom fabricate something or would I be better off buying an exhaust kit and having them install it? If I go with a kit, are there any that are preferred? Magnaflow and Flowmasters seem to get good reviews. The key thing is I want something that emphasizes that nice V8 rumble without being overly loud and obnoxious. Some people seem to mistake "sounding good" with being deafening and annoying.
  9. Yep, my coupe turned 40 today as well. It's having some work done so no real celebration to speak of...
  10. Yep, they get my vote too. What a genuine pain in the butt! I figure if I can't make it work, I'll just spend the extra $$$ to buy a bolt-in glass kit. This car is just a driver so factory-correctness isn't a factor.
  11. Thanks for the advice! I'm really loathing that I ever took the glass out to begin with, but hopefully I can get it back in correctly.
  12. Does anyone have any insight or advice as to how to reinstall door glass? I'm having one heck of a time getting my passenger side door window lined up right and I'm hesitant to glue anything in until I've got it "dry fitting" right. Are there any tricks to this? Also, once I get it lined up correctly, should I put glue in the "cradles" and then sit the glass down in there, or should I place the glass in first and then apply the glue? This has been a bigger ordeal than I expected. I removed the glass to more easily replace some weather trim and remove some nasty old window tint, but I'm really wondering if its worth the trouble. I'm going to need to do something about the driver's side as well though.
  13. I think that is correct. Even with the pic zoomed in, it's hard to tell for absolute sure if it's black and white or blue and white though.

  15. Is this the houndstooth interior? Whatever it is, that's what's in the car.

  17. Well, my questions may be for naught. The seller has apparently fallen off the face of the earth. I can't get ahold of him by e-mail or phone, so I wonder if he got cold feet...

  19. Ah, thanks for the reply. Your CobraJet Grande looks like it would be quite a ride. ;)

  21. Hello gents; good to be here. A local seller has a 1970 Grande for sell with a 351 engine (a 2v Windsor, I think). He seems to think that most Grandes did not sport such an engine (instead having 302s). Does anyone know if this is the case? Does anyone know of any production numbers? The car also has a half vinyl top. Was this factory, dealer installed, or after market? I can't seem to find many pictures of such a top, with most Grandes apparently having the full vinyl top. I'm not a big fan of the way these half tops look, but I do think they are interesting, if nothing else. Here's a pic of the top:
