  2. Hey guys, does anyone have or know where I can get measurement specs on the engine compartment. My 69 is missing the front aprons and rad support, and also has slightly caved in shock towers. I purchased all the parts I needed at the swap in Ohio last month and would like to weld everything in properly. Your help would be great. Merry Christmas to all.

  7. Glad to hear, will bring a box for you. Ill be hanging out at the Boss 9 and 427 SOHC display table. By the way, what would be the next best front fender manufacturer besides the pricey FORD. Hate to say this, but I will be making a flip front from steel and dont want to use the mint stuff. Nor do I want the real cheap. Any sugestions..? I need the headlight buckets for the left and right too. Thanks Danny

  9. check your oil........ undo the drain plug for a second or so and put a magnet in the cup you are draining into. Give it a couple of hours to get a result. It is not normal to have alot of metal particles collecting on the magnet, that would point to cam wipage, However the oil can look like metalic paint upon breakin of a new cam, when you drain it into all into a catch pan and look at it in the sun or with a light, because there is some very minor wear of the cam and lifter face to seat..and of course, other metal particles from machining.( they will be larger and only a few pieces) Next, pop off the rocker covers and look for slop in the rockers. You will see immediately there is something wrong. Check the valleys where the oil drains at the ends of the heads. There will be lots of steel particles there also if something has failed....I speak from experience......Good luck
  10. Wicked looking tarmac shredder you have. Appreciate all the good info. Seems you been around the block a few times with boss stuff. Have you heard of the new boss magnesium repo covers being made soon?
  11. wicked looking engine you have there, do the rear wheels hook up on that buggy? hahahahaha Thanks for the links. Last weekend at the Ford swap meet in Ohio, I bought a 1969 429 boss block in very nice shape, with nascar caps, standard bore. I guess im heading in the direction to change my 69 stang into a boss 9 powered car. My fasback is originally a smallblock, with a bigblock now. But what the hell. Ive heard that the shock towers are available. $3000.00 Any body heard of experimental engines in Brighton, Michigan?
  12. Has anybody heard of the Tod Miller heads out of Iowa, boss 429?
  13. The Kasse heads will use boss 429 covers? This sounds great whats happening. Amazing power out of low comp. Your car is absolutely gorgeous. Thankyou. Where did you get this info from?
  14. I may have not made it clear enough but I meant the difference between Boss 429 passenger car- 1969 70 street heads, and the Boss 429 Nascar racing- Holman Moody. Sorry for the confusion.....Nice engine by the way
  15. Does anyone know the diff between Boss 429- passenger heads, and the nascar versions. I know the intake ports are diff. in size and apparently nascar are better for street driving so I am told. But are the valve covers, valve train, etc all different from the other? Does the O ring in the head pose a problem today on the pass. :whistling: I am going to start piecing a Boss engine together with a real nice boss block that I bought and would like to know these things before I get into trouble. This is not a real boss car project so period correctness doesnt realy matter. I want to build a nice street engine for later. Thankyou and hope I didnt ask any stupid questions.... Danny
