  1. Does anyone know of any companies that make original tooling doors for coupes and convertibles? If so did they fit nice. Or are there any nice fitting repos. Some clown was nice enough to reshape my drivers door with his truck. he left without leaving any contact info in a hurry. As it turns out a fellow classic auto collector witnessed the hole thing. left me his card and was able to meet up and get all the info for the hit and run. any help would be great. Thanks to all.
  2. Don't trade it for a T5. Your toploader is a much better tranny. The best t5 is only good for 330 pounds of torque. Sell it and put your money on a TKO tranny. My t5 only holds up to the beatings I give it cause I run a stock 5.0 motor putting out 250hp with 3.70 9" rear end in my 69 conv. I just bought a tko tranny for my soon engine upgrade to 425 hp.

  8. Its a little to dark out now. In the morning I will try to set everything up. The timing is probely way off, This is a 5.0 with a early model 302 timing cover. The motor is set up like a 70 302. I dont know if the timing marker I'm using is in the same location as the 5.0 location. The harmonick balancer is the same as a 5.0 since im using a T5 trans with a 5.0 bellhousing and fly wheel to match the same imbalance for a 5.0.

  10. :sweatdrop: It lives. I finally got my car running. My question is when I first started it up after 2 minutes i could see the headers glowing while it was just at a ideal. Is this normal? I installed a carburated 5.0 HO motor withTri Y nickle plated headers. It was dusk outside and i didnt take it for a drive. I still have set the timing and adjust the carb. I know headers can get hot but not this hot. Anyone know of any problems with this in there rides?

  12. Ok, I have it apart. Just looking at them both you can see they are differant. The correct on goes from .575 to .625 inches on my micrometer. The wrong one goes from .600 to .650 on the meter. The correct one's shaft tapers then goes straight, while the incorrect one tapers to .650 the tapers back smaller then .600 . The ball socket looks the same, and it wouldn't even matter do to it has it own matching seat. I found an excellent exploded view of it broken down in steps on ( stangersSite.com). This will help you take it apart and put it back together the right way. I'm still crossing my fingers that I rebuilt it correctly. Take your time and be careful not to damage any parts. I hope this helps you. Dave
  13. Give me to the weekend to get back to you. I just recieved the rebuild kit from CJ's today. I'm shot from workin. I have 3 differant ones to measure now. One from a 65 (I think) the one thats wrong and the one from CJ's. The 65 fit perfect, I hope CJ's does too.
  14. I think I read online somewhere that the 351 cleveland block uses the same bellhousing as a small block. I swapped a T5 in for my car and I was going to go with a 351C also, ended up with a small block 5.0 for now. Thats why it rang a bell. Try looking online for info to be sure and enjoy hitten those gears.
  15. I called CJpony parts and ordered a rebuild kit for it. I didn't want to modify the hole, cause if the control valve goes bad and I have to get another one it might be the right size and then I would have slop in the steering. We all might of purchased from the same guy on ebay. The studs might be from china. I hope this helps you.
