  1. If I use a hydraulic clutch, would I still have clearance issues?
  2. Yea it looks like a big pain and expensive! I just wonder if my longtibes would fit. What the size difference between the fmx and tko?
  3. I am seriously thinking of replacing my sluggish fmx auto to a tko 600 manual in my 69 as I seriously miss having a manual. I searched a little but didnt find much info on whats involved and what parts I need besides obviously a new pedal set, tranny and clutch.
  4. Yea mine are those stock ones. Im replacing then soon anyway along with a Monte carlo bar and subframe connectors.
  5. Yes it has the stock export brace on it. What size swaybar should I go, 1 or 1 1/8". John says they all run the bigger one.
  6. Yea I just talked to john from opentracker and he told me I really need the alignment to his specs. Im going to cut the springs a little cause the car never lowered when I put them on and then get the alignment done. If im not satisfied after that, Im going with a new swaybar.
  7. Just checked the pulley and it doesnt seem to be sitting too low. The top of the belt is about even with the pulley and theres about 1/4" below the belt to the bottom of the pulley. Wondering if the chrome is causing it? It only seems to squeel when I first start it and for the first minute after.
  8. Than I wonder where its coming from? Its VERY loud and only when the car is running.
  9. I guess the springs are 560 lbs. The other set is 750 lbs. Just wondering if it is my springs cause I cant see them giving me bad advice after I gave him my specs.
  10. Ok, so Im going to get a swaybar and montecarlo bar and see if I can return the springs for 620's.
  11. Nothing! I want the best of both worlds. Im just stating here that with the parts I threw at it, it should be better.
  12. Yes they are 520s and I have a 351w. Thats what opentracker recomended to me. Would cutting them down a little help?
  13. Not sure on the alignment but Im sure I would have noticed if it were off and the battery is a new optima.
  14. The belt fits fine in there. Im wondering since the pulley is chrome that its too slippery in the groove. What filter are you talking about? Ive installed MANY systems in my cars but never had this much interferance. Must be cause of the huge battery power cable.
  15. The ride is better just not what it should be. The front still seems to float a little like the rebound needs adjusting but theres no way to do that.
  16. I just converted to front power discs from csrp using the 99+ pbr calipers and the differnce is incredible. Ive owned 6 mustangs and it went from the WORST stopping one to the best. The booster was a huge pain to fit as its large and it was hard to get the bolts in as theres NO room but I got it with a lot of sweat and blood. And you dont have to use the adjustable prop valve.
  17. I was told a stock swaybar was better than the bigger ones thats all. Didnt think it had to do with weight but for weight transfer?
  18. I just got done installing a 3g alt with a v groove pulley and installing a new stereo with an amp. Well when I first srart the car, the belt squeels pretty bad for a little bit and the belt is tight. Also, theres a ton of radio interferance. I ran the battery to the trunk and I did run 1 rca cable and 1 speaker cable alongside the passenger side rocker panel together but the rcas are supposed to be shielded so I didnt think that would be a problem.
  19. Stock sway bars. Do thicker swaybars really make that much of a difference? I was told that teh stock swaybar would be better for drag racing. I think the springs were like 520#? The shocks are not adjustable.
  20. Maybe I was expecting too much but I expected this thing to handle like it was on rails. I put edelbrock ias shocks all around, 1" lowering springs (which didnt lower the car), shelby drop, and roller perches and the front still bounces a little and while it does handle better, not what I expected. Should I replace all the swaybar bushings? I havent had the alignment done, but I adjusted the toe 1/4" in and it steers straight. Any suggestions?
  21. Just go to cj pony parts and get the bottom air vents with the speaker cutout, thats what Im doing and I know they fit at least a 5 1/4
  22. Wow thanx for the help lemon owner for your first post. Welcome to the site. I was also thinking of not installing the prop valve as it will be a huge headache and Im eventually going to go with rear discs anyway.
  23. Think mine was like $750 or something like that but I already had my calipers. He said this kit will perform better than the KH kits.
