Good to know, I like the way your 70 look in the pic! I'll most likely have a Spring shop cut my coils for me. I'm from western Colorado, do you ever take your car to the steamboat show? If so maybe I'll run into you some time.

My brother has a 67 coupe 289 with aluminum heads and intake, no ps, no ac with a 620 up front. We cut 3/4 of a coil out and it sits and rides great, but he does not drive the car aggressive. I may lean towards doing the same, but I would like to add the Shelby drop and just do 1/2 of a coil cut. Or maybe even the negative wedge kit.

I love minilites!! Almost bought a set earlier this year, I went with the PSE version of the minilite. They are made by vintage wheel works now and come in 15,16 and 17's. For now I have 15x8 Torq thrust wheels on the back with a 295/50 and they fit with no rubbing

Did you cut your 620's to get the extra 2" drop to make a total of 3"? One of my ideas was to cut 1/2 coil on the 620's and do the Shelby 1"drop. I was thinking that may give me a total of 3" up front.

a few more pics, and a pic of the 17" PSE wheels i ordered for the car. Future plans are. Lower the car and improve the suspension, put my 17x8 / 9.5 pse wheels on with nitto 555 in 245/315 And a new paint job ( the stripes are painted on and must go!)

now that the mach 1 was sold i started the new project!! I wanted to build a street / track trans am themed sport roof. my new 70 sport roof was an orignal grabber orange 302 2v 3 speed car, the previous owner has a 1969 351w 4v with orignal shaker and a close raito top loader 4 speed built for tha car. he did a great job restoring the mustang, and from what he told me the car was a great survivor car and didn't need a ton of work. the shaker was an orignal 69 shaker set up and 100% coplete, but not orignal to the car and wasn't what i wanted. i sold the shaker and put a new OEM tooling hood on the car. ( it fits great) changed the orignal autolite carb to a holley 600 with a 1 inch spacer and an Holman moody aircleaner. new headman short headers ( modified to fit ps and 4 speed) and 3" coustom dule side exit exhaust with SLP loud mouth 2 mufflers, and an h pipe. the 351 isnt stock, im not sure whats done but i can tell its a health built engine with a hot cam and alot of head work. (the sound is amazing!! and very loud.) the interior was 100% complete but i made some changes. ditched the stock seats for a set of procar vintage seats and shelby R race lap belts. the car had a cheap steering wheel, and i changed it to a shelby cobra style wheel that was wrapped in black leather. the car had a hood tach, but i changed that to a nice auto meeter tach inside the car. future interior plans are: add a roll bar, oil pressure and water temp, gauges, delete the stock radio and speakers ( the car is too loud to hear music anyway) maybe delete the center console and back seat. My next project on my 70 mustang is to lower the car, and improve the Suspension and handling of my car. It's just a weekend driver street car, but if I can get it to handle better I would like to take it to a few track days as we'll. I'm not going to get super crazy and buy coilovers or a expensive 3 link rear end, but I would like to get the most I can out of a basic coil spring in the front and leaf in back. I'm also looking for a good amount of drop. 2 1/2-3 in front and 2-2 1/2 out back. So far I bought grab a track 620's with a 1 inch drop for the front and was thinking of doing the negative wedge kit as we'll. and do a reverse eye 4-5 leaf out back, maybe a 1 inch block as we'll. I'm also thinking about changing the front sway bar out to one of the mustang plus bigger sway bars and adding a rear sway bar. Who make the best negative wedge kit? Or should I stick with the 1 Shelby drip? Anything else that anyone suggest I do to the suspension? Any info or suggestion will be appreciated.

I may have a vac leak as well
-
I'm thinking my vacuum advance isn't working, Looks like I have some work to do
-
So I took the Holley 600 off and put the factory autolite 4v back on. Now it doesn't overheat
-
Thanks, it's a stock fan with a stock fan shroud, yes all fluids are full, no leaks. It just odd, I drove the car all august In 98-101 temp out side, with 0 problems And now it overheats every time the car stops moving! Going to put a new thermostat in tomorrow
-
Over the past few weeks I've changed some things on my 1969 351w. Changed the stock 4v carb to a Holley 600cfm, Holman moody air cleaner, headman short headers, 3 side exit exhaust, And now my car is overheating, but only when the car is not moving, once it starts moving the temp gauge drops back to normal. I just changed the temp sensor, but it didn't help. Thanks for any help

All all depends on how wide the wheel is. My 70 has a more narrow axle then stock About 9mm on each side. I just ordered 17x9.5 -6 offset PSE wheels and 315 nitto tires
