  1. I also just flipped over my original and did a little bending to it to get it lined up just right. But what i did was open up the rod mount lengthwise a little more and then bolted that adjustable side to the shifter, and tacked the original bushing and attaching bolt with the pin through it to the Tranmission shift arm where it used to have the stud. I ground off the stud to weld the bolt to it.. It took a couple of tries with a hammer and a vise to get it bent just right but it works great and was free.
  2. Memories! My wife and kids were at the park across the driveway from our open garage, and she was like (with her hands over her ears "Turn It OFF!!!!, it sounds like a helicopter".. "I cant honey, I have to break it in or it will be ruined!" LOL!!
  3. I was about to ask if you had gotten rid of the resistor wire for the pertronix but you got to it! Great job.
  4. Ive got 255 45's in the rear and 245 45's up front.. Fit great and the rear is just a tad bit taller/wider, its hardly noticed.
  5. Do you remember what size u joint you had to order to fit the old driveshaft to the newer yoke?? Im trying to get the right one.
  6. I found that the new chrome pieces were too long so I had to smash little "fingered washer" things like a rivet onto the posts, then use my dremel tool and a cutoff wheel and grind the posts down so they would allow the scoop to fit the car. So the answer to your question is, yes, you ground off the stud tabs and everything comes apart. Then you get the new ones with small locking washers that you smash onto the new studs to hold them in place again. Then you grind down the new stud to fit the scoop to your car.
  7. Im going to order one pretty soon and when I do I will put up lots of pictures. It seems like no one has ordered these things so far. There is an article by mustang monthly where they installed one in an earlier mustang and it looked nice. But they had it sitting too far forward. http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/interior/mufp_0609_tmi_upholstery_interior_restoration/index.html
  8. Use some window weld to glue it into place. There is a mustang monthly article somewhere out there that tells you how to do it. I paid some guys to put a new one in. Usually if you order a windshield they will install it. Maybe you could even have them remove the old one and install it into your car.
  9. Is there a way to tell what carrier bearing I need without pulling it from the rear end. I really want to get this stuff ordered and still drive the car while I wait. Its my daily driver.

  16. Mike. thanks for the reply. I havent installed it yet and Im hunting down all of my parts now. Its a 93 Mustang AOD. the shifter nub points down. Im trying to use my stock throttle cable from the 69. I would love a good write up on any snags you ran into and what you used for your swap. It would help a lot. Plus it would be here for any other AOD guys.
