  1. Raven, Youve got it wrong.. There should be two wires on your seat bun. One wire goes through the seat cover and gets hog ringed down in the crack to the second wire that is directly opposite of it on the under side of the seat foam. Like a wire/foam sandwich. You ring it together and then ring the bottom wire to the seat springs/frame.. You probably didnt have the original seats when you pulled yours apart, but mine did and still had all of the original wires and springs and everything so I just paid attention to how I pulled it apart.. The seat backs are the same way. If you dont have the wires you can pick up a roll of it at an upholstry store or just use some old coat hangers.. You just need to get the cover onto the foam nice and straight first.

  3. I went over to the local Keyston Brothers upholstry supply store and had them cut two planks of dense foam for me about 3 inches thick and the correct measurments for my seat and back.. Took them home and trimmed the foam to fit by sitting the seat frame on upside down on the plank and tracing it with a sharpie.. And then used a butcher knife to cut the foam. Trimmed it around corners and such.. Then fitted it and hog ringed it to the seat frame. I got two different types of foam, the seat bottom with a little tougher than the seat back, but it worked out well. Get some burlap while you are there and some spring board to put on under the burlap, its the little wires that run between the springs. You can buy it by the plank and then trim to fit and just bend the wires where you cut them. It cost me about 70 bucks for the parts.. The foam was a little expensive, but it worked great. Just remember not to cut too much off of the plank when trimming..
  4. yep, sounds right.. A empty reading should be between 8-13 ohms and the full one should be about 73 ohms.. Sounds like you need a new sender. Or check the little nut that is attaching the wire to the sender at the sender, you may have grounded the wire somehow. If the mounting nut came loose the bolt may have grounded itself against the side of the sender.. Pull the wire off of the sender and check it with an ohm meter to ground and see if your wire is somehow grounded..
  5. I ordered some side mirrors from CJ Pony Parts and ended up with two of the wrong style left hand mirrors. ( http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort ) I didnt know that they were the wrong style though because the car was at paint.. So i sent one back and got a totally different style ( http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort ) Problem is that neither of these fit my original mounting holes. The car is a Grande and must have come with the racing mirrors, so are the mounting holes farther apart for the racing mirror? and does anyone have measurements of the length between mounting holes for standard and racing type mirrors? I need to figure out where this went wrong. Maybe a previous owner installed new mirrors and holes in the door from another year.. But there is no sign of that.
  6. Anyone need a new fiberglass mach 1 hood scoop? I bought it and ended up just buying a new fiberglass hood instead.
  7. just remove the bolts that go into the oil pan and then the cover and remove it. You will need some RTV to put it back to gether and dont over torque the bolts or it will leak oil. And make sure you replace the seal on the cover and put lots of oil on the dampner before sliding it in to keep the seal tight.. Make sure you drain the cooling system and take a drain pulg out of the block becuase all of the water that is sitting above the timing cover is going to leak into the oil pan when you pull the cover. Or just change the oil again after you do the change.
  8. I just dont want to reuse the old pigtail pretty much, and I like the look of updated gauges. Its one of those things I guess,, Im doing the rest of the car and it seems that it just falls in line. There is nothing wrong with the old gauges or the printed circuit board, I just want to update.
  9. OH and I took the plate and rubber pads out of the spring saddle. You will see what Im talking about when you pull it apart. there is extra padding for the grande' . You can keep the plate and use it as a lowering block if you want to drop the rear at a later date.
  10. Mine with grab a track mid eye 4.5 leafs in the rear and stock springs up front. 17 inch 2005 mustang GT wheels with 235 55 rears and 235 45 fronts. Kyb gas a just shocks. I still want to drop the front about an inch.
  11. Has anyone tried wiring the guages without using the PCB?? I would like to try this out. Its either that or just buy new gauges and take out the old stuff.. I need to go stare at the back of my gauges for a little to figure it out I guess. but I figure the only thing would be to wire in the voltage regulator and some new lights and then make a harness to go along with it for quick disconnect. Any Ideas? Ive got the Ron Francis wiring kit going in and I dont want to splice into the old wiring harness to install it. I would rather just pull it apart and rewire the gauges by hand.
  12. Me the wife got it in there last night. Thanks for the tips. I ended up bending the molding up a little and using a rubber spatula to work the cowl into place.
  13. Yep,, It sounds like both options are a lot better than whats going on now.
  14. Hey, is your Grande' on original suspension or what did you do to it? It looks lowered. And what size rims/tires are you running?
  15. Yep, Im in San Diego, working on 32nd st. right now at the Training support center. (FC2) Im living in the new base housing out in Point Loma right next to MCRD. Its going to be hard to leave this place just because I dont have AC.. I volunteered at the Mustangs by the bay show this year, and parked my car outside the show because it was still green, but next year Im showing it off..
  16. They mocked it up to align everything and it worked out, the windshield wasnt in when they painted.. So yesterday the guys came over and put in the windshield and the molding. Thanks Mike, your write up was exactly what I needed. I really appreciate it. Ill post some pics of it all together a little later.
  17. Hey, are you in San Diego? I see you were at Mustangs by the Bay. When was that?
  18. How do I get the cowl pannel back on? I am trying to get it on with the molding installed, but I dont that that is going to happen. Does it sit inside the molding clip? Do i need to bend the molding clip outwards to make it fit? can I pull the molding off without taking the clip off? Does anyone have a step by step process? I have already scratched my paint with the molding and gave up. Any help would be appreciated!
  19. Thats great! At least it was mountain dew and not a couple of beers, then you would have been screwed
  20. Thanks for the comments guys.. Im trying to get the lower dash pulled apart right now and am about to start cleaning out the doors and coating with Por-15
  21. I have no clue.. I mean I was wearing a helmet afterall and was tailing SDPD for a couple of minutes.. I just got lucky I guess.
  22. It sure does.. HotWheels airbrushed in under the clear.. My boy loves it, he's 6.. and has like 120 of them.. so now dad drives one. Thats her thinking face.. Its hard to tell whether or not she's mad sometimes. The color is Metropolitan Gray (2009 Mazda Color), its nothing but metal flake, at least it seems that way. In different light it goes to a greenish blue to blue to gray.. Its great. You cant really see the details in the pictures, but in person it just pops.. The body lines stand out really well when the sun is out.
  23. I drove 20miles in the rain with no windshield to get this beast home on Saturday!! It was great.. Cold and wet, but great. The windshield guys showed up at the shop with what looked like a 68 windshield and told me that they would be back on monday.. So I took the car anyway.. The rain was stinging like hell at 45mph.. so. I stopped at a buds house and got a full face motorcycle helmet and a jacket and took off. I took all back roads accross San Diego, no freeway. Stopped and got some gas.. Waved at a few people, got a few heads to turn, and some teenagers screaming at me from the side of the road, so I waved a little more straight out of where the window should have been.. It was fun.
