Thanks! I know the Driver's side would need the tail pipe adjusted. Here's a picture of the new one (I just painted it!).
This should still fit, correct?

Hey there!
The manifolds on my 302 2bbl are cracked. A friend located a pair of used ones for $25! They came from a 70's 302 in a truck. Do you think they will fit? They appear to be the same fit, only the driver's side seems to angle further down. Anyone replaced the manifolds with ones from a truck?
Thanks!

Replaced exhaust donut, installed driver's side window after gluing (works great!), and replaced sway bar linkage. A very productive day!
-
Oh, and a passenger side sports mirror.
-
Do you have 302 exhaust manifolds? Also looking for the ash trays that goe in the front and rear of the console.
-
I discovered the cause of the banging and vibration from under the car: A broken muffler hanger. I replaced that, then started work on the exhaust donut. The studs in the manifold screwed out, but the nuts never budged! So now I need to get new studs to install, and possibly a tap to rethread one of the holes....

Is this the dash pad, or the instrument cluster area?

Not knowing what car this is, it is hard to say, but I almost never like tail panel black or headlight buckets on any of the 69s unless the factory did it. I think it looks even worse on coupes. I also don't like stripes either.Kind of a traditionalist I guess, but there are cars on ebay where I see people do custom stuff and while it may look good to them, I think it turns a lot of buyers off.
Sorry! It's a convertible. Check out my pics!

Good day, all!
Well, after doing our taxes, we are ready to pull the trigger on getting a paint job! We are looking at painting her Acapulco Blue with black interior and top. I've seen several cars with the front headlight buckets painted black, as well as the rear panel near the fuel cap. I need some opinions! I know everyone has them! Do you think this would look good? If so, should I go with a flat or gloss black?
We found a great guy to work on her (thanks, 70mstang! ), and are excited to get her painted before spring is over!

Can you send me a pic of the distributor?
Thanks!

Thanks for the link! Do you think the rails would be ok in a bead blaster?

Hey gang!
I'm planning on changing over the interior of my car from ivy gold (blech!) to black. My door panels have the metal door garnish rail on it. I've priced new ones at $184 a pair . There is nothing wrong with the ones I have. Can I bead blast these, then prime and paint them? And if so, What type/color of black paint do you recommend? Matte? Semigloss?
Thanks!

Replaced distributor vacuum lines that PO had removed and bypassed the valve assembly. Seems to me that she started easier and runs better!
I also adjusted P/S control valve lines, and installed new lamps in the side markers. I'm visible at night now! Unfortunately, the lamp housing on the front passenger side crumbled when I reinstalled the wiring! Time to order a new one....

They should already be on your vents. Have you removed them from your car yet?I haven't, but the PO had repainted the car, and it appears that either they were removed, or just painted over.

Its not the body panel, there's a small panel attached to the backside of ornamental grill.Really? That's the first time I've heard that! Thanks for the pics, RangerDoc! That would be much easier than having my painter spend time painting those little sections! Now, does anyone have a source for those panels? I've checked CJ Pony and Mustangs Unlimited, but I may not be searching for the right things....

We are about to get our convertible painted to Acapulco Blue. I had heard somewhere that the body underneath the side false vents was originally painted black, with the vent painted the body color. Is this true? I'm thinking this would look pretty good. Does anyone have any pictures of their vents they would like to share?
Thanks!

I returned a car cover that was too short, and bought a new car cover, a fender cover for after the paint job (no scratches!), and two new control valve steering hoses. Now to clean up the fluid from the garage floor....

Good day to all!
Thanks to the information on this fantastic site, I successfully replaced the transmission mount on my C4 auto transmission. Thanks to you all!
I wanted to give some information about how I changed it, so that hopefully I will save someone some frustration in the future.
Once I got the car up on stands, I used an 11/16 socket to remove the two bolts from the middle of the crossmember. Next, I used a block of wood and a jack to raise the transmission. Here is where I ran into problems.
The two bolts that attach the mount to the transmission are 3/4in. bolts. The best way to remove these is to put a socket on it. However, the crossmember is in the way. I removed the bolts holding both sides of the crossmember in place, hoping to remove it so I could easily access the bolts. Oops! Those pesky exhaust pipes are in the way! My next thought was to disconnect the down tube from the manifold, but I instead found a 3/4 ratcheting wrench that I was able to get into the space to remove the bolts. So, a 25 minute job turned into a two day job while I ran around town looking for a ratcheting wrench!
Thanks again to everyone on this site! I hope this info will help someone else!
BTW, here's a picture of the old and new mount!

Happy New Year's, everyone!
I would like to get a quote on repainting my car, but I want to get someone reputable and passionate about classic cars. Do any of you know of a shop in the North Georgia area that does excellent work? I live in Alpharetta.
Thanks!

Attempted to reglue the passenger side window. The rear channel was glued solid, but the front came loose. Did my best with Windo-Weld from 3M. I tried to lube the guides, but it is still rough raising and lowering the windows. The window is drying now. I'll report tomorrow about whether or not it worked!Well, it seems to be working! Yay!
However, now the front is coming up faster than the rear. Back to the shop manuals to adjust the tilt...

Thanks everyone! It only has about 53300 miles, not what I would call a lot for a 43 year old car.
I'm going to check the tranny mount first. I may just go ahead and replace it so I can fully eliminate that as an issue. I'm hoping that is all it is!

And the passenger side:
Remember: These came off of a 302 in a truck.
Thanks!
