  2. Replaced my brake switch because my tail lights would'nt turn off.
  3. Yes the HEI was in the way and the float adjustment screws were not allowing any other flat base filters to seal right. The 2" filter flows as much as I need so I haven't messed with trying to get a 3 inch to fit.
  4. With a little modification from my mechanic we made this jegs offset air cleaner http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/50001/10002/-1,fit under the stock hood. It is a flat base 14" x 2" air cleaner with a notch cut out for the float adjustment screw and braised closed. We also trimmed the rubber seal on the air filter, but not much. Fits over Holley 750 Double Pumper with an Edelbrock performer RPM manifold and stock motor mounts. I hope this helps someone. I did a lot of research on what air cleaner fit's under 1969 mustang stock hoods and gave up only to try many options myself. I have not put my export braces back on yet, but I don't think it should be a problem. Good luck

  6. Thanks, yeah after seeing the start to some builds on here I really appreciate not having any rust at all. Heres some pics of the 9 inch I picked up from another 69 coupe.
  7. The 302 comin out and the 357w about ready to go in.
  8. Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice and ideas. I've had this car for 14 years. My dad was looking for a 1st car for my sister when he ran into this coupe for $1500. It was in pretty good shape. It belonged to an old lady that had'nt drove it in over a year. Long story short my dad gave his jeep to my sister and kept the mustang for himself. He rebuilt the front end and painted it Red, it was pea green. After driving it for a year he told me if I saved up enough money to put some tires on it I could have it. At 16 years old I ended up saving enough to buy Trick Flow heads, a Lunati cam, Full length hooker headers, a 600 cfm edelbrock, rpm manifold, mallory distributor, keystone wheels, an art car shift kit, new seats, and new Bfg tires. He handed me the keys and we worked on it with little help for a couple months. So as a junior in high school I had a pretty sweet car. After a flood hit New Braunfels, Tx and my car it only ran for a couple more months until it blew a piston ring. Sadly it has sat in my garage for the past 10 years. After buying and selling 5 other mustangs I've saved enough to get the ball rolling again. I have rewired it put new carpet, seatbelts, brake pads, fuel lines, gas tank, and ignition switch. Then I bought a rebuilt 351w, C4, a 9 inch, and a huge pile of parts that I have been thinking about for the past 10 years. I am so happy that I am actually going to have the car on the road again. I'm also very appreciative that I can finally afford to have a proffessional assemble the motor, trans, and rear for me. I don't really like doing the work, I always have just because I did'nt want to pay someone else to. I also really want to keep the stock hood with no scoop, I have an edelbrock rpm manifold and a holley ultra 750, I know this has been discussed lot's on this forum (that's actually how I found this site), But we will see, I'm really just hoping a drop base filter will magically work. Sorry for the crappy iphone pics it's been in my garage for a long time this is the first sun it's seen in 10 years.
