  1. So here is the breakdown: RUG-D2 / 1968 Fairlane, Falcon / 289, 302 wide ratio Case - C8AR-7006-D / 1968 casting Tailcone - C70R-7A040-A / 14" length housing for 28 & 31 spline Used for 289, 302, 390. 428 from 1966 - 1969 Nothing rare about this xmsn, what do you think its worth as is?
  2. Thanks for the site info. I hoping to see it tonight. My friends dad is transporting it to his house in Philly today. I'll post the data and some pics
  3. A friend at work is helping his dad clean out his grandfathers barn and came across a top loader transmission. From the questions I asked, the shaft has 28 splines and he can see the letters RUG on a tag. Without seeing it, I would assume it's a wide ratio xmsn from 1965 to 1973. I have the opportunity to buy it but I don't want to over pay. What would this unit be worth if its in fair condition? He also came across a Hurst shifter and some linkage rods in a box that he would include with the xmsn.
  4. I went to the Fall Carlisle swap meet this past weekend and got a good deal on a few things. The gas tank kit I got from the CJ Pony parts tent. I also found a vendor who was trying to unload his last few Qts of POR 15. At $35 a qt, I just couldn't walk away.
  5. That is one sweet build. Better than when it rolled out of the production line in 69.
  6. Looks great. Looks like we are both restoring the ass end first. I also went with Dynacorn panels. Better quality and fit for a few extra $$.
  7. Did some research on the whole drag pack option and it seams that dealers back in the day were allowed to install most options. I have been told more than once that dealer installed options went un-documented sometimes. Say you purchase a new 428 69 mach1 off the dealer lot in 1969. You paid the dealer to add the ram air option but the vin will not show the R code because its after the fact. The seller today says its a true ram air car because he claims it was a dealer option that installed it. Things that make you say Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  8. The 69 now has a new ass. Almost time to start fitting the new roof skin.
  9. Picked up a new fastback replacement roof from CJ Pony Parts yesterday. To many man hours to fix the original roof to make it look right in black. I'll post some pics as she transforms from a fastback to convertible back to a fastback.
  10. My NJ Army guard aviation unit was activated at 1030 hrs Sep 11, 2001. We were given the order to fly 1 Blackhawk and 1 OH-58 jet ranger to the FBI building in Newark NJ. Not really knowing what was in store as we took off from Trenton that day but I knew it was going to be a life changing event. We flew many missions that week supporting law enforcement at the WTC site. Seeing the devastaion up close will live with me forever. I'm proud of my country and what it stands for but it's a shame that freedom comes at a price! America stands proud and we will never forget SFC Ken Shainline US Army Retired <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
  11. Update time. First time I seen a 69 without an ass.

  15. While I was deployed to Iraq I had the opportunity to stash some cash. The reality of being in the sandbox for a year allowed me to start up this project. This is a true Mach 1 428 ram air car. The stang also had the drag pack option with manual 4 sp, power steering, tinted glass, and a stereosonic tape system. I have the original build sheet from Ford which matches the vin code stamp under the L/H fender. I purchased the car as a rolling shell from Ft Myers FL for $1000.00. Its a true rust bucket but worth the time and money. To kickoff restore, I had the entire car soda blasted.
