Thanks for the help guys. These are great suggestions. My son is stuck on the idea of running 18" wheels in the back and front. Does this change anything with respect to clearance or rubbing in the firewall?

I was hoping to use some of you guys experience to keep from making some mistakes. I have recently begun the ground up restoration of a 69 Fastback for my son's first car. This is my first Mustang, so I'm learning as I go. He wants to put on a set of 18" wheels, but I am unsure if these will fit and not scrub. Can someone suggest the wheel tire spec's that will work for this car. I know most of the ones I have seen have 17x8" wheels with 245/45/R17 tires. I also am unsure of what wheel offset to use. Can you guys give me some guidance? Thanks in advance. I will be sure to give back once I've learned from my mistakes. Jeff

I am faced with a similar question. I have just started rebuilding a 69 fastback for my son. He wants to go with 18's and I wanted to know if there will be any problems running 18's on this model Mustang. Also, what tire combination will work? Any idea on what the center offset should be on these rim combinations? Sorry for jumping into your thread, but it seems like we have some of the same questions. Jeff
